I adore the book and I did see the film.

I think the film was beautiful, but I felt it was rushed and it would be I suppose. I was a bit disappointed with the end, mostly because i really liked the book’s ending.

Honestly? I thought it was rubbish.

Went on and on and on about nothing. Completely self-indulgent and i didn’t really enjoy her style of writing.

A Million Miles from Normal was also a ‘chick-lit’ book about a woman on her own re-discovering herself etc and it was far better. And funny too.

PS this is the first itme i’ve been able to comment for ages – have no idea why.

Great idea to go alone! I went to the Los Angeles Book Festival with my 9 year old daughter. We had fun, but I definitely went past booths and speaker events that I would have loved. Next year I’m on my own!
