Top Ten Toddler Tales

on November 28, 2012

So, Christmas is coming at a rather alarming rate if I may add! But if you are anything like me, where by you love giving and getting books for Christmas, especially for the littlies in your life, this post is for you.

Some of my favorites (and Bean’s) through out this year which I think would make fabulous gifts.

Winnie The Witch

Delilah Darling is in the library

The Incredible Book Eating Boy

Fancy Nancy

The Heart and the Bottle

Princess Poppy

Dewdrop Babies

Princess Smarty Pants

Dr Dog

Last but not least:

The Little Mermaid

There are some fabulous books out there for little people and this list could of been longer… What do you have on your list for toddlers? I am always keen for new books so let me know what your little person loves at the moment.

One of our top scorers is The Princess who had no kindgom by Ursula Jones and Sarah Gibb as well as their rendition of Rapunzel.

Also the hound from the pound by Jessica Swaim…..just because we’re animal people.

Fairy Foals by Suzannah – bigger than A4 hardcover book which brings together fairies and horses to gove you fairy foals…..I had to renew it x2 from the library at madam’s demand……

Kaylin loves the books about Lettice a little rabbit that gets into all sorts of adventures. She also loves the Hairy Mclary Books.

Olivia’s latest fav are the Jill Tomlinson animal tales – The Ardvark who wasn’t sure, The Owl who was afraid of the dark, The cat who wanted to go home – they are lovely.

She doesn’t like Winnie The Witch!

This is a great selection of books! My four-year-olds love Fancy Nancy. Another favor of ours is Patrick McDonnell’s “The Gift of Nothing,” which I love reading to them at this time of year because it counters the materialism associated with this festive season (it doesn’t help that my girls’ birthday is mid-December, too).

  5. Thanks everyone, I am going to do a follow up post with these recommendations:-)
